Not every single person in the world is an adventurer and it could be a case like poison ivy were 99% of people are allergic to it. It could be there some people that are immune to it that simply aren't adventurers and it could be there are some people that are immune to it that are adventurers but simply never ate one due to warnings from other people.

If everyone's allergic, then it's no longer allergy. It also shouldn't have just one symptom in everyone. Even better, it's an "allergy" affecting different species, even small rodents, all the same way. Yeah, just chalk it up to a magical effect and be done with it.

The problem is, everything, even mice react to it the same way in one, specific symptom and only that. No one breaks out in hives, no one has trouble breathing, no one swells up. It's just not reasonable to compare this to an actual allergic reaction.

I mean, as explained in the manga allergic reaction is caused by an otherwise-healthy immune system overreacting. So if all standard person get sick from those peaches and the solution to fix that is to lower your immune system, that means that only people who have weaker immune system (i.e. sickly people) would be naturally resistant against the effects.

And of course weak sickly people wouldn't be going into the dungeon to get the crap peaches in the first place. Guess that's why it never ended up being known.
