i disagree wholeheartedly. It is true that instict is as important as technique and tecnology, but not MORE. To be able to reason away from instinct and into a superior mental state than that of a beast is true progress. The animalistic is a bottomless pit of dispair and suffering.

Man, this is why I hate asspull miniarcs with bullshit OP opponents that CANNOT BE BEATEN NO MATTER WHAT. It's always a setup for some weird powerup asspull that doesn't feel like an interesting evolution of something pre-existing or an interesting new technique, it's always "uuuh actually because I am dehydrated as fuck and delirious I actually realized that the real super saiyan was inside me all along"

So this is the Frieza arc for our MC. Instead of killing his buddies, he almost dies of thirst. His opponent is an overconfident, naturally gifted and powerful person that never trains but looks down on everyone. Now he's about to unlock some primal, ancient power and overcome the gap. Sure, why not.
We barely get to see the girls enjoying the hotsprings, feels like a waste.

so was this entire thing to remove akita's sense of fear? cause if he fears not death nor injury i imagine his moves will become more unpredictable and far more damaging as he will be more willing to take hits to land them. something the brother doesn't seem to comprehend. its an extension of the lesson akita learned from the last boss he fought.

This is the limit of this kind of genre, in the end you have to not let that bother you or just skip it and look for something else. Unfortunately we cannot reset our brains to feel the novelty of this again like when we were young.

I accepted I couldn't give a fuck about battle shonen long ago and I've tried recent ones. I might find some surprises and enjoy it when it's done well enough to not let these tropes bother me, but most of the time I just can't anymore with the same path of the hero stuff. It's what it is.

Finally: Milkies!!
So, guess the author is doing that dumb shit that the Kengan author did too, where one of the martial arts styles can only be mastered when you are on the verge of death (I think in Kengan it was the "Raishin Style")

so, we just pretend stuff away and nerf Akita whenever necessary to enable these lame ass asspull op losers to dunk on him. Whatever.

And now literally nothing that ever happened matters anymore and he will win against this godlike probably strongest in verse dogshit brother character solely because muh instinct zenith martial arts pseudo profound bs.

This is so interesting! Wow! How about having Akita sleep a lot and fight the demon king in his dreams to power up next time!
Having him actually properly fight proper characters is LAME AND SUCKS! POWER HIM UP NOW AUTHOR OR ELSE!!
