The only thing I'm left wondering is if Taiga's dad or Arima ever realize(d) who the other was, but I think that's a good thing to leave up in the air. There's also the thing with Arima's gender, but I think it's pretty clear that he's a man. He specifically notes feeling happy getting to be a man around Taiga.

Arima definitely does, hence the "that's why their similar" line. Taiga's father probably won't for some time I imagine. I also agree with you on the gender side; I also dated a transgender man, and while it's not a universal experience, he was happy playing both male and female parts in theatre, but really enjoyed just being a man with me
