BasedRetard being my hero as always. The haircut being a simple return to the old is a little disappointing. Couldve been something completely different. Perhaps itll end up symbolising a regression in Reiji's character, returning to his proclivity to live for others, losing his new drive to murder someone for a coom.

The haircut is just there to justify ch1pg1. It doesn't have to do with Reiji's regression into being a listless boy. His murderlust is throbning strongly on him, he is stopping Kazumasa from returning to the town so he wouldn't have a reason to be stuck (and also because he cares about Kazu's future) and liberation from Chako and Gen would just make him go fully unhinged.

Lowkey I hope Mao doesn't die. I never like seeing a man's happy family destroyed over some mistakes he made in the past. Hopefully Aoe is able to have some closure with him and Reiji can let his murderous vendetta go. Be the bigger man.

UUUUHHHHHHH..... nope. that "mistake" is breaking and brainwashing a CHILD, then selling said CHILD to fund his "happy life" by letting old men RAPE a CHILD, then leaving a CHILD to fend for herself.
That "happy family" is blood diamond. It's built on rape and abuse.

OK, fair, but please don't call what Mao did "mistakes". You wouldn't say that former serial murderer who quit his hobby made "mistakes" in the past, and I don't think that word fits someone who gaslit into prostitution literal child and then dumped her like trash. IMHO bad parenting can be a mistake, getting family in debt, shoplifting, debatably getting drunk and sleeping (consensually) with high-schooler, or (again debatably) cheating, not rape or mindbreaking a kid.

You can definitely tell she's having to pick up her pacing for the ending, but this was such a fun fanservice chapter I can't bring myself to mind much. Kazu is alive and the rest of his family is nice and happy to see him! Chako's back and gained weight! There's a tense undercurrent to the entire thing, but despite myself I couldn't help smiling. I don't really have anything productive to add this time but it was fun. Thanks for the chapter as always!

The Chako x Rei dream is dead, and I had pretty much wrote her off for the rest of the series(except maybe the absolute end of the story), so its nice to see she's recovered both physically and emotionally. She was def my favorite char with some pretty savage moments(both to her and against her).
