For all we know Mao is a pretty good actor. In the flashaback he also acted like a friendly guy and only showed his true nature once or twice so it's not really a surprise to me he acted like that in front of Reiji. Totally expected him to.
But Reiji only knows him from what Nagi told, he didn't see him like we did so his behavior throws him off.

I thought Mao would be a complete pushover then got to pg 14 and literally saw

happening! I couldn't believe it. Well I'm not surprised, but the sudden turn in demeanor from before that page to the pages after are what caught me off guard. Looks like he came with a plan himself. I didn't think Mao would be that interesting, but if he coming out of the gate like this, this end will be more interesting than I thought!

I honestly don’t think she lied about the past, went back to reread and there are too many careful set details and very powerful imagery for it not to be true. Especially the page where she was alluding to doing child porn. The flashback of Nagi is well done. And Mao seems exactly the same as in the flashback.
I suppose Mao is thinking that what he did was good and him checking up on her from time to time is the slithering guilt that he needed to cast her aside after using her. I mean, what else could it be? How was Nagi able to get into child porn if not exploited by someone? Dunno, I don’t wanna believe that we will get a cliche 180 of Nagi being the psychotic one. How would that even turn up? She was little. I would probably cry in frustration since I spend TOOOO much reading this. All for what? A comical cliche ending.

Mao doesn't know what's that really connects Reiji and Esemori, the relationship they have and that the friend Reiji talked about was actually Esemori's lover tho.

Once he finds it out the bonds that tie the past and present day abysses, Mao may end lashing out and try to take Nagi with him. If that hqppens, there's not gonna be just one final boss, but actually personal final bosses: Mao gonna be Nagi's final boss and Reiji's final boss is... obviouwly, Yuri.

Expect Yuuko and Akira's deaths being dragged until the vol. 18 closing chapter and Reiji having to tell Mao where Nagi actually is as the bargaining chip to allow Esemori and Yuuko meet, sort their unresolved shit and fucking die. Only that way Reiji will be free from his last chain.

Reiji got no balls to kill someone
He was about to kill him. Mao just remembered Nagi's husband was in the car and that was enough to put a wench into Reiji's own plan.

The funny and sad thing, Reiji now has no options, but to follow Yuri's plan as a consequence. And working with Yuri is a lost battle. Reiji may think if Mao dies in the Shibasawas with Yuri executing it, he may hope the teacher will bring herself to the cops, or Reiji will rat her out to the police, but the teacher is known for thinking ahead and for choosing to drown heraelf with Reiji instead of letting him go, so she may have forethought Reiji will betray her and that he is determined to die with Nagi, therefore the consequence of making Yuuko and Esemori reunite is Reiji being forced to commit double suicide, but with his teacher. If he wants to die so badly, then Yuri will allow it, but not with Nagi, because Reiji has to own up for "having chosen his teacher" and because it's not a matter of salvation and death, but one of womanly pride. She can't let herself lose to a shinigami.

Really? Next chapter it's due from so long like we fucking didn't waited to see esemori becoming a sudden wife person

We didn't wanted a fucking segs scene

We didn't wanted a sudden "I WANT TO KILL HIM"

We didn't wanted chako to bring letter

We didn't wanted to know about seeing Nagi after so long loving and getting cared by someone leaving for fucking to kill someone she doesn't even care about.

We didn't wanted to see so many things

Like I don't even know whats is going on its just now streching for no reason

And making it sense less and less every day until it becomes non sense
Actual fucking clown shoes

Same, this is like my nightmare ending scenario. If Nagi turns out to be the one who lied, the one who pulled the strings to get everyone else out of the way, the one with the deepest abyss of all and just put on a show as a meek, traumatized, broken person (at least when her past trauma response was reactivated by Shiba), then I'd just be heartbroken. That ending would be the ultimate waste of my hopes for a good ending, especially considering this wasn't a short series by any means and it took me several hours over the course of around 3 or 4 days to read.

Fortunately, I don't think this is likely, since I don't think Nagi's previous experiences can be faked (remember when her past as a junior idol was doxxed with those swimsuit pics on a Japanese forum after Chako exposed her), so it has to be true. The worst scenario is that she may have been somewhat of an unreliable narrative and got some minor details wrong. That's it, hopefully.
