1) its not his responsibility to help anyone
2) he helped his mom way more than enough and he just mentioned how he was coerced by everyone to do their work for them
3) living as a working slave to fund his mother and shut in brother is just slavery. He has no responsibility to. His brother should get a job or his mom should kick his brother out. He isn't the dad, he's the son
4) he has no responsibility to help this aoe idol. Not everyone he meets problems are his to fix and she has her own 'agency' - her choices are hers to make, ain't his fault if she jumps nor is it her fault if he does. he isn't to blame if he doesn't help her despite if you think he's able to.
5) seems to me that his upbringing, lack of being loved by family, bullying, being used, etc, has led to his heart art growing cold to the idea of being loved. Thus sexual intimacy is his replacement, but after the husband incident he showed signs of mild post trauma from being misled (intentionally or unintentionally by aoe). It was messed up to have your first moment of physical intimacy trained with the mindf5ck of the "husband" coming home, plus learning she has a "husband" and thus cheated (?) so many questions, MC too broken to care or ask them.
6) "lol pervert" - these types of commenters don't understand he is substituting physical intimacy for emotional support because he is too broken psychologically and no one around him is capable of being emotionally supportive / will do that.
7) this kinda makes me think that it's a massive popular trope that it's usually the protagonist solving the problems and being the hero (with some token give-bscks but still savior yyp) but this time he needs help, but alot of readers still expect the broken one to fill this role despite obviously being the one who needs it.
Noticed alot of readers so far with a savior, white knight, self sacrifice and/or hero complex wanting to see this guy keep being used by the people around him including aoe, because of some twisted sense of duty or responsibility to the point of martyrdom. He so broken now, by his words, not even moving to the ccity and starting new life would help. Too depressed / empty inside. Too used up by others.
