I know Rei loves Nagi but he's just leading Chako and Gen at this point. He says he loves someone else yet says shit about waiting, protecting these two. I understand if he said about wanting his friend to get but saying you'll wait for them? I say just leave Nagi and have a 3way marriage of Gen, Chako, and Rei
I do agree, he kinda promised Gen something he wont fullfill, same thing that he did to Chako.

For a wound to heal, you don't have to amputate the damaged part... you need to clean it out, sterilize and properly dress the wound. Reiki has been saying to go to the police for a long time, just like Esimori. The people of this town are the ones that just let their wounds fester and rot.

Maybe for the first time since I started reading, this chapter actually made me think there might hope.
I think the real breaking point for Rei's mom was when Esemori told her it was too late, so I wonder.
It's silly, but I wonder - could Yuko still be saved?

I'm getting Makima bias all over again. Even until now, I'm still rooting for mom to win.
...I'm aware that's objectively the wrong opinion.
Same lol, I'm too bought into her flashback story for why she turned out the way she did, and I want her to have her little happy ending with her being surrounded by the people she loves aka her self-described hell. Just no more killing please, even if she has to act to keep down the sociopathic tendencies, just play a happy family together instead of this shady shit lol.

Even though I understand how that's literally 100% impossible considering this story lol.

That was definitely the breaking point for Yuko, the point of no return. I think there was a small window before then when she was still in her innocence phase with her first love, even after being forced to sell her body, when she could've been saved.

I think it might be too late now, though I will be happy to be wrong and actually hope that I am.
