Reiji lost it.
He isn't just like Yuko. He is worse, reason: self-awareness. He admits he isn't doing this shit because of being sincere, but because he is aware he is a piece of shit unwilling to take the helping hand of others because they are happy good people, he is willing to drag other bad people (in this case, yuri, as he considers her the worst adult), to his own abyss. He is aware he wants people to join into his misery to not feel alone. And the worst thing, he is fully aware he is triggering the worst of the people who is close to him.
Doubt if that surprise encounter with Nagi will help things instantly. Have a feeling he will fuck up things badly. He is on a state that surpasses his low point in the hospital where he basically rejected her twice. Reiji may do a thing that may regret in the future. Push her into JAV. Here, it has to be Nagi who has to decide for herself and pull a life changing decision: reject Reiji's rejections, tell her story, her fears, her sadness, be there for him even if he doesn't want to, but it has to be because she wants to, not because of the generational curse influence, not because of Reiji's abyss, not because Esemori told her, but because Nagi the person wants it. Maybe Nagi kind of knows what happens to him, he told her he fears he is becoming a devil like his mom (although he became a monster that surpassed her)., she also read Saki's letter.
And if Reiji accepts her, they better pick a god and start to pray, because once Yuri finds out... someone is gonna end up killed.
Those surprise encounters with Nagi always manage to make me anxious because i always come with the pre-assumption Reiji will fuck things over.
PD: he wanted answers for Yuko's behavior, he is getting them.
PD2: it's worth to note we have the official birthdays for at least 2 characters: Yuri's is march 3rd, Reiji's is May the 1st
