I always thought the shoujo part in this manga is a bit strange. All the way the story presented, characters and even most visible is the panels is nothing like a common shoujo manga at all. And then the romance confession, is so awkward like a shonen romance lol. If not for that Hanatoyume logo in the front cover I wouldn't believe this is a shoujo manga xD

Still a nice story though and I love them. Thanks for the translations.

This story certainly went at it's own pace and I thoroughly enjoyed it aside from useless glasses dude wasting time and space. Glad we got the confession and it was as awkward and wacky as the story had always been.

I really like this series. It's dialog is top tier and it's story is honest. Even during the confession, during the end, it kept me laughing and giddy.

I originally started following this story because I really loved the premise of it: it's a story about ordinary characters and the equally average lives they live. And I loved that this actually even became the moral of the story in the end! However, I think it really fell flat with its romance, which is a shame because there was so much potential! I think the mangaka focused so much on portraying the normality of day-to-day living, that they forgot that the romance could still be special. You don't need fantasy or eroticism to make a romantic relationship entertaining and/or heart-warming, so it really bummed me out that, despite the message of the story promoting ordinary kinda characters, the romance was portrayed as "dull" or "uneventful" BECAUSE they were normal.

If anyone's looking for a manga where the MCs are ordinary characters with average lives, but portrays the romance in an engaging/heart-warming way, check out Futari Ashitamo Sorenarini! In my opinion, the romance in this is what Utakata Dialog COULD have achieved, but unfortunately didn't. Anyways, long post over! Despite my opinion on this manga, thanks for scanlating it fully through!

Enjoyed this series. Author decided that it'd be a comedy first and foremost, and stuck to it. So many other series forget their comedic roots and drown themselves in corny sap as the romance gets solidified, ultimately spoiling the balance. This one knew how to keep the chuckles going to the end, and still managed a line - "and ultimately, I'd like it if you would be in the same tomb as me" - more powerful than almost any dedicated romance manga out there.

It kept going on, they would finally kiss in chapter 105. They would both be so embarrassed that they wouldn't hold hands again for six chapters after that.

Aw, I loved this series, it was so fun and refreshing, it would have been nice to see it go on for a little longer, but this was a sweet closure that really fits the tone of the rest of the story, so I can't complain. A sequel with these dorks would be nice, though! XD
