now the way she treats souta makes sense. she wants to make sure that souta is an honest man who treats women right and appreciates the value of money, because all the guys she knows are lying scumbags that would cheat on their wife at the drop of a hat.

while i sympathize with her wanting souta to be a good kid, her way of doing this is emotionally stunting him (blazing hot take, i know). i feel like she's aware of this, deep down, but i don't know if she'll be able or willing to change. they've both had it rough :/
