80yen for a weeks worth of work? That's even lower than shit-tier. Incredibly awful mother.
I wonder, how those who defended her in the first few chapters think now.
He will run away ... just a matter of time ... he will rebel sooner or later.
And to be honest every possible part time job she could sent him to like cleaning works in a bath house or other stuff shoulda woulda pay more. If it were for money and helping with living expenses it aint the reason to work him like a slave.
Poor kid, his mom's getting more possessive and manipulative lately. I wonder when will we reach the point where she starts to blame her son for her situation
@Airwave2k2
I think it's more like that for reasons yet unknown she doesn't want him to have that much money on him
I just feel so bad for Souta, his mom is being plain toxic. As others have said, I really won't be surprised if he decides to run away, even if he doesn't really have the means to do so.
@Kaiofficialone
I'd just ignore it. A lot of people don't actually know what the word actually means and just spout it out if the MC isn't some uber macho OP harem cultivating dude.
As for the chapter itself I was scared something like this would happen after his mom's declaration at the end of the last chapter. Now she's gone full obsessive possessive over him and is smothering any opportunities or time he might have to relate or develop bonds with others via this "work."
And the worst part is the poor kid doesn't have anyone he can vent or talk to. He's ostracized at school, he doesn't have the time to talk to Haru and Yuri seems to still be avoiding him after their argument a few chapters ago. Hopefully the teacher can come help and provide some emotional support.
