@Rdrop i don't think he was a burden to her. Flashback chaptet covers and Ch 4's flashbacks depicted her as a loving mom. If something, i see her as a desperate woman who has nobody to rely in life bc men were a huge pile of shitheads to her, and Souta is her only emotional grip. On a twisted way, she wanted him to become a decent man.

Btw, everyone at school knew Souta is poor since the ceremony entrance, and now, thanks to Yuri's fem-incel tantrum, everyone knows he was involved with a supposed "prostitute". Middle school little shits always will blow things up for lulz.
