I absolutely clear now, that Fumi is a child abuser. The police and social services need to get involved immediately. I sympathize with Fumi, I truly do. But what she is doing to her child is no only illegal, but life destroying. Satou needs to be taken out of her custody, and she needs to be given counseling as well as looking for help in getting financially stable.

Now i finally understood why Sou-chan is such a naive person. It all comes from family, Fumi was as naive as him when she dropped everything to start anew in Tokyo. I can't help, but feel pity for Fumi, but that doesn't excuse her from being such a psychological murderer. Souta just wants the love she fails to give to him, and Haru ain't that bad aside from her daddy issues. So, it's a "sorry not sorry" rant about her.

Fumi's backstory reminded me from... Shudo novelizations of the Pocket Monsters anime. Hanako (Satoshi's mom) also was victim of a bastard guy who got her preggo and then ran away after Satoshi's birth. Still Hanako didn't end up turning into a manhating whore.

Seriously, i think Fumi's punishment towards his son has set new records in the sadism department. Not even Seiko went too far with Seiichi in Chi no Wadachi. Come on, despite of stabbing him when being a toddler or being the possible culprit of Sei's scar on his head (afaik, he was thrown from a cliff), she never had forced her child to stay semi-naked on his house. By Spring has 2 nominees as of now: "Psycho Mommy of the year" and "seething psycho love interest of 2020".

Teacher proved himself to be dumber than i thought. How can somebody with such an experience be easily deceived by the looks and attitude of somebody? Isn't Souta's personality not enough evidence??

The question i have? How did Souta get Haru's gmail?? I think that happenef after their "date", but i dunno (btw that's what i was referring when i teased a "light of hope" for our MC). Either way, if he gets ahold of momma's smartphone and runs over her contact list... he'll snap for sure. Boy's still in fubar territory. Child Guidance Centers in japan are way too fucked up and won't take action unless Souta gets in a life threatening situation with actual witnesses testifying for him and it seems cops and school highups will believe either Fumi or Yuri first.

And a quick reminder: this is a seinen, so don't expect Fumi to be magically healed on her soul or teacher taking an interest on her. Fucked up people stay fucked up.

This is slowly but surely turning into "one room of happiness" but fused with "sekai oni" 's mc background story

Sensei really dug a huge hole for the Mc,didn't he? Can only imagine his reaction when he finds out what he did lol. So, what's the mother gonna say when her son finds out about her job? Teaching all the stuff only to bite her in the ass.

The fuck...the mom should be the one who knows best about their (and most importantly her son's) financial situation, yet she disregards what the kid says as a simple excuse? Unless her current mental state influences her thought process this much, they either have more money than she let's Souta on or she "works" for ridiculously low prices to think the kid can afford a prostitute.

After this little bit of backstory i understand a little more of how Fumi became how she is today (except how she came to be a prostitue), but it's no excuse for how she's treating her son

@WhisCalifa69 the last chapter when Haru mentioned about if the MC had a smartphone. Side Note - MC Mother isnt a prostitute anymore at this chapter which is surprising really 😄

@DarknessAssassin i won't put my money on your statement yet. The fact mommy asked for a few days out to Akemi's boss doesn't mean she's out of the prostitution business. Remember Igarashi told her to not tell her boss about their encounters and outright lied to her boss in the 1st chapter.

@ICYCOZY Feels to me the mom is the same level, assuming and projecting her feelings in how she should raise him, not trying to figure out if he's telling the truth, and immediately demonizing him and humiliating him over what someone else said, and to top it all off, she's a massive hypocrite.
She's no better than him.

@Ingway But she is not doing all of that if that scumbag father didn't do some scumbag things. And that leads her to become a scumbag as well. But she is a victim once that's why i feel a little bit bad for her...

@ICYCOZY She's pitiable sure, but she's still completely in the wrong, she lets her own mental state control her entire life, and control her own son. She sees him as a project to mold into what she views as perfect, he got out of line, and she's so insanely focused on him as a result, she goes too far.

The biggest kick in the balls for poor Souta is yet to come still. He's not quite at rock bottom yet. And I get the feeling that in future chapters if he gets desperate enough to contact Haru he might get his hands on his mom's smartphone and find out about her "second job" which of course comes with the realization that she's most likely bullshitting about their current "poverty" as some of us have previously speculated. Which of course means, finding out all the bullshit he's had to deal with over the years due to being "poor" was all a lie on his mom's part would be the breaking point IMO.
Then and only then will he be allowed to truly snap and go full Shounen Abyss on us.
