I love Gargantia on the Verdurous planet, and this is basically that except it's not a planet covered in ocean. It's a lot faster paced and cuts out a lot of the learning of the language and culture for the MC, but instead has overarching developments with the conspiracy involved with the heroine. I would enjoy this more had I not recently watched Gargantia, since this manga hits a TON of similar story points and developments as Gargantia, I feel like I've already read this manga before.

I hope I'm wrong and that this does get to deviate, but so far it seems way too similar to Gargantia to ignore (idk which came first, so Gargantia could have taken from this rather than the other way around) and seems a bit odd.

It reminds me of Lord of the Ice Garden. I suppose the 'magic' will be something similar to what the LotIG had, seeing as it was capable of intercepting spaceship.

Gargantia sucked beyond words. It was at the level where Urobuchi only wrote the first and last episode and the rest was almost entirely completely inconsequential anime hijinks and poorly animated ecchi. The character design was done by a pornographic author for that purpose alone.
This is pretty shallow and mirrors the usual isekai where the protagonist is just showing off his unearned superiority to the girls, but compared to Gargantia it's a superior work.

Oh thank god the manga sped through the novel's low points. Honestly I think the manga's presentation is far better than the novel's.

the usual plot twist would make the bugs actually are ancient / evolved humans due to nanomachines.

Would be pretty refreshing if the bugs actually are real aliens

Many people including myself have compared this series to Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet, and putting this in a spoiler in case you haven't seen it:
...but that's literally the plot/big climactic reveal of Gargantia, where the aliens were artificially evolved humans from earth, bio-engineered to survive in a new habitat of oceans and space. ...So if this manga series went that route as well, I think it'd be a poor taste in my opinion, because it'd feel like it's ripping it off even more, like a watered-down discount Gargantia (pun intended).
No reason why evil predatory bug aliens can't just be evil predatory bug aliens.

I've never read the Manga everyone else references [Gargantia]. But I have seen Starship Troopers and know a bit of WH40K, and this reminds me a lot of those sci-fi classics. With its big ominous Bugs (Like Tyrrannids Or ST's Bugs) and I enjoy seeing the Persian manner by which Alans military training guides him.

My only real issue is minor grammatical mistakes here and there. But hey, those things happen.

Apart from the fact that Alan doesn't immediately make the most obvious connection between the idea of a massive bird appearing from nowhere that crashed and destroyed things with great light, and a giant falling spaceship that exploded. I do find the concept introduced of the AI sending out people to find him interesting. I hope this goes well, and that the bugs are never related to humans.

The bad isekai use being isekai'd as just a means of wish fulfillment which has little bearing on the plot.
Just now this isekai got the message and being isekai'd is now part of the plot in chapter 16 not just in chapter 1.
This should be quite a good manga.

Interesting....I remembered there's a Hollywood movie that has the same premise. The MC is a male and the enemy aliens actually attached to his ship after they fought in space and the ship went down => Wreaking havoc on the unknown planet that is still in medieval ages. In the end, MC killed the enemy by forging a sword using metal scrapped from his ship. I couldn't remember the title unfortunately

Man this translation is seriously garbage...

Also what's with the arbitrary currency? First it was silver and gold, then it was guineas, it keeps switching back and forth between the two and there's absolutely no indication of the value of any of the three it's just completely random. Also... Guineas? In a fantasy world? In a sci-fi universe? what kind of retard thought of this?

I'm pretty sure it's just the garbage translation and not whatever it said in the original raws, in fact I'm pretty sure they are using gold and silver or something of the sort, and there are no guineas. 400,000 guineas for mithril armor, how many fuckin coins would that be? Ain't nobody gonna use such a low denomination for trades in a fantasy world, how would they even carry all that around?

@Rabcor

it's one guy translating this, as said in his desc he only really translates manga no one picks up and does it in his spare time. If you don't like it then leave no one wants you here. Otherwise he is doing a fantastic job for someone working by himself.
