Tfw you're a ygo player and can't help but notice the deck bro play is just Herald mix with Cyber Angel and maybe Agent, then go all in with the Berserker Soul for the classic "Draw! Monster cardo!" bit.

This is honestly just YGO, but the LP system is taken from mtg or similar games instead. And the dark duel thing is pretty similar to Ygo Zexal, at least from what I remember. I'll have to wait for a couple more chapters to see how this will go, so I won't comment about my impression just yet.

EDIT2: NGL... took a look at the LN illustrations and they do go kinda hard... Erea's cute. Not on the same level as Kasuga Ayumu put into Twintails but they emit cool illustration of the duels... like Galaxy Convoy says: FORCE CHIP: IGNITION!!!

Yeah, given how he says that everything in his reincarnated life is the same except for the card game, I don’t see the reason for having it be a reincarnation story in the first place. Just have the protagonist be a genre-savvy dude and you don’t need to make it an isekai.

If he were an actual citizen of the card world, it wouldn't make sense for him to explain everything to us.
It's the easy/lazy why of delivering loads of exposition naturally.
