I feel like it's more likely they think beastmen are absolute garbage and thus one is worthy as the bare minimum to throw at their garbage son as a servant so it doesn't look like they neglected him too much. Rich folk gotta keep up appearances. Also, he's not the one that bought her so they can just take her away any time they feel like it at the moment. "Oh look, the shithead enjoys the company of this thing? Give her to the other son immediately. No need to worry if he maims or kills it" sort of seems like a fairly likely development.
