The real gatekeeping is not the one enforced by people, but by the content itself being so itself that people don't approach it. For example, death metal, loli stuff, the worst guro stuff, stuff like that : they are gatekeeping themselves because you like it or flee from it. And you can't do anything about it, nor even if you gatekeep gatekeeping.

And you can't do anything about it, nor even if you gatekeep gatekeeping.

In my experience, people just ignore the bad stuff in the media and later advocate for it to be removed or toned down even though it's a core part of said media. Though they are vocal minority as of now.
