Ditto with what David said. From the list I would like to point out that the creators who made Volcano Princess are making a new game called Moon Princess, which will also allow you to go the lesbian route if you want.

It was their first game, plus didn't it get updated later down the line with better translation? Just asking since I beat the game when it first came out.

I personally recommend Sono Hanabira ni Kuchizuke o (a Kiss for the Petals), as you can find all the main archetypes there and it is one of the oldest series. Almost no choices and the same style, the most notorious change came with the tenth VN. I'm leaving the trailers of the latest titles of the main series:

it's okay enough that important plot points and dialogue are understandable, but there are grammar mistakes here and there

at least, that was my experience like 1-2 years ago

Almost no choices and the same style, the most notorious change came with the tenth VN. I'm leaving the trailers of the latest titles of the main series:

Yes, the tenth game has for the first time all the characters, but it's not the only one. There are two more (one of them the second trailer) that reunites them again because a new couple is introduced. The art in the previous ones is essentially the same, but these have a better interface and a longer story.
