If that's too complicated, here's the simplified version:Easy enough. It explains why I don't understand anything. I went WAY out of order.
Well, you can't get ribs from many places here, and you definitely don't want to buy pre-cooked ribs from the supermarket. I haven't had them since forever because of that scarcity, but since they're picky eaters I had to decide on a family-friendly place that had more or less anything. In the end, there are few restaurant chains here, from USA it's basically Foster's, KFC, MC Donalds & Burger King, essentially fast & junk food. It's a rare ocassion when, for instance, I find a genuine Mexican Hotdog place with plenty of options to burn the tongues of casual spicy food eaters. Not sure I'd get ribs from anywhere with 'Hollywood' in their name, but if I left now I could be at (the original) Joe's KC BBQ in time for lunch, so I'm a bit spoiled.
As for coneys (or 'chili dogs', if you hail from the South), there used to be an excellent place called George the Chili King here in town that made what I consider the standard for these (they also rated a mention in DSM native and author Bill Bryson's memoirs) - see example below, which came served on a piece of waxed tray liner paper if you ate at the counter. The chili was not good if you ate it stand-alone, but was the perfect chili for a coney. Sadly, they closed up during Covid and show no signs of ever reopening, and while there are a couple other places in town that do a decent coney, they're not George's.

Yeah yeah, Rance also has a ton of videogames and hundreds of characters (they don't fit even in a single page), but titles like Kichikuou Rance have 14 endings + 66 character clears, with the added difficulty you can't clear them all in a single run because not everyone can be happy. And choosing an ending many times involves setting the path quite ahead on time. Btw, your Tails' protagonist is also a rip-off from Rance. If that's too complicated, here's the simplified version:

You mean Adol from the Ys series? And wasn't it the other way around, that the author of Rance was referencing/parodying Adol?Btw, your Tails' protagonist is also a rip-off from Rance.
Rance parodies many characters, but unless Adol is from 1996 or before it can't be that way. But since those titles were revised the character itself is more or less rewamped, so it could be parodying it as well. I mean, the remakes of Rance 01 and specially Rance 03 are in part a parody of Persona when it comes to after-battle screens.I'll finish the games someday, dood. Soon™

I'm glad you answered so I wouldn't have to dig in the memory banks for an hour! 🤣Kentucky Fried Movie
The very first Ys game is from 1987. Also, I did look more into the character you linked and it says the same thing:Rance parodies many characters, but unless Adol is from 1996 or before it can't be that way. Oh, for some reason I thought Trails started in the 2000s, if that Ys is from 1987 then it makes sense. Since it's been long since I read that entry I simply forgot that part (yes, normally it's specified when it's a parody, besides Rance being a parody of Link from Zelda). As for Falcom, I simply thought "another cutie filling in" when I played Neptunia. The very first Ys game is from 1987. Also, I did look more into the character you linked and it says the same thing:

But this wouldn't be the first time Adol or even a Trails characters were parodied. One example would be Neptunia with a character called Falcom, who seems to be a combination of Estelle and Adol. Though the blue one seems to be referencing Falcom other title, the OG Legend of Heroes.

You are correct, it's just that Trails and Ys are two different series made by Falcom that are not connected. Trails first released in 2004, while Ys started back in 1987.Oh, for some reason I thought Trails started in the 2000s
