school library

do they actually have LNs in school libraries? are we at that level?
US comics dropped the ball lol
granted, they only have like 3 shelves combined of LNs/manga, and most of it is manga, so...

also yea, american comics fumbled the ball harder than Warner Bros with War of the Rohirrim, which is saying something

American comics:

Harley Quinn fart comic with scratch and sniff farts. There is no joke.

on a side note, apparently I live as one of the few people who likes s2's op ૮ .ᆺ. ა
also i do like the S2 OP, i just think it's not as fire as S1 (~8/10 compared to 9.5/10 rating)
I hate to break this to you two, but S3 is the winner here. S1 is alright, S2 made some improvements, but S3 absolutely destroys both of them. And S4... just tried a little too hard. (Source - me.)

Fair enough. Having studied music, I have a hard time just listening to music without critiquing it, so anytime I offer my opinion on the subject I have to remember most people (A) aren't trying to perform an aural analysis on the piece on the fly and (B) tend to think I'm a bit of a prat.

thoughts on John Hassel / Brian Eno - Delta Rain Dream?
Not familiar with the album; Eno (both as an individual and with Roxy Music) has always been on the fringes of artists I've dug into, but never been the subject of one of those digs. Looking at Hassel's bio on Wikipedia, he sounds like the sort of guy my composition professor would have been into (Stockhausen and Riley were both influences on him, and he did some of his study at SUNY Buffalo), but the name doesn't ring a bell. I'll have to make a note to find a good stream of this somewhere and give it a listen.

Went to Ross, they sat me on my ass and had me watching training videos for 3 hours. Ugh. Tomorrow I start training in person, and my schedule looks to be 6am to 1pm (not sure which days)

on one hand the soulless nature of corporate America is kind of terrifying. On the other hand, one of the ladies who will train me tomorrow is cute... Is this how they get you?
When I worked it Domino's I didn't have the same feeling of dread. It felt more like I was just working at a local place. I'm being put into the line of new shipments every day. There is a whole team of people who are in the back and sort through the products.

Foodservice is fundamentally a different animal - everyone who works in a kitchen is clinically insane. (I know this because I spent a bunch of years working in kitchens.) Yes, some of the national fast food chains still try and use a corporate model (McDonald's comes to mind as the worst example of this), but when it comes to actually making food there has to be some degree of artistry involved, even if you're just dropping fries and flipping burger patties.

No, the paycheck is how they get you. Cute/funny/amazing coworkers are just a side benefit.

Do remind yourself that I'll be working in the back in stocking, not the front, so the majority of my coworkers will NOT be cute women.

Paycheck, shmaycheck!

(The answer is to become the cute women!)
