I consider myself fortunate that most of my foodservice jobs were at places with good coworkers. Some of the managers (particularly above the store level) were assholes, but the hourly folks were alright.

My co-workers were all pretty cool, the owner was a real piece of work though (karma came for him in a bad way). Some of the customers that came through were pretty pricks and kind of stupid. I'd really like to know why anyone would think it's a good idea to shout insults and slurs at the guy holding a big knife behind the counter.

I did miss the one customer that would always come in to the coffee shop I use to work at. She had one of these guys and he loved bacon and whoever gave it to him was his best friend.

Just found this cute book about an American girl growing up in Tokyo, it has different items and then a Japanese translation of them, alongside transliterations into Latin. Not sure if anyone's seen it before.
