There is a thread about VPN options, check it out, but doesn't matter what application you use ALWAYS read the conditions of use and privacy agreement. Long story short, there's nothing free, someone pays for it and money is not the only currency, it may be your metadata, your own IP, Internet connection, sensible data, etc. Nowadays there are multiple paid options that allows you to browse without a cost on your download/upload speed, I don't need any of that but when I want to visit some niche pages that are usually blocked in multiple countries I use Tor Browser (it uses different IPs around the world that are paid with donations, the downside is low speed and fixed settings to guarantee privacy).
