The good news is an another affiliated university, which is not as prestigious as the one I wanted to get into, is interested in me, but they want me to make a solo project within 3 months. So all hope isn't lost for me.

Great! To me, the affiliation would suggest a pathway to transfer at some point down the road - sounds like an opportunity!

I actually have an diploma in aeronautics but I am switching to a different field (which is something I really wanted to do) so I need to go to a go to a university so that I get the degree!

Oh, makes sense, don't be afraid to spend too much time learning and enjoy campus life! Better now than later when you'll need to fit that in your working schedule, just pursue it! Even after all this time even I need to get a new degree...

The solo project is on "People and their intersocial relationship on internet", I have to present a detailed analysis of how people interact on internet and they build their connections virtually, I've been told that I'm free to choose how I want to approach the project since I'm not much experienced and this project is just a way for me to familiarize myself with the frameworks.
