And in what way is there grooming in this anime/light novel? Sure, there are talks of marriage in the future parts, but that's way past when she's adult age again, and it's with someone who knows she's an isekaier. And the only reason there are talks in the first place is for politic reasons so she can gain power. I think you are confusing this with Muskoku Tensei.

I'm not, I dropped the bookworm manga as soon as that arc started, if it got better later, I wouldn't know, or care.

I do not remember there being an arc like that at all, what exactly are you talking about?

I'm not trying to get you to read it again, but I think you are misunderstanding the whole concept of this story. It's not a grooming story like other isekais.

I honestly just see it as a basic isekai that simply got lucky that it was a lot of newbies first introduction to the genre.

It only got famous because of it had one of the best animation back in 2021 when it was released, it used to make waves in anime community with release of each episodes.

There were other plot elements I did not like besides that, maybe my already ingrained hatred of it blinded me to plot details.

And those are all understandable. I just wanted to point out that the story is not about grooming.
And about the second point, it makes sense of why that was more of a thing near the start. For more information, back then Myne was at her lowest because of all the stuff that was happening to her (devouring eating at her, not being able to make books, new environment + being an adult in a child's body, etc)

While I wasn't really in the fandom back then, I heard that even when it had no anime that the story was well-known in the light novel communities, so I don't think animation is the full reason of why it's famous.

Same, I believed that it would get better (even after the premise beginning with MC jerking off to his elementary schooler niece on his parents' funeral) until I read the manga and he started groping his own cousin while she was sleeping and it just somehow manages to worse.
