Certain manga take a long while to load pages

The Reincarnated Princess Strikes Down Flags Today as Well. Manga won’t load pages and if they do end up loading it’s after many retries and refreshing. It’s not my internet because I tried other manga and they load fast as normal

I'd like to add that for me it's not just certain manga. All the titles here have gotten this weird lag or fail to load when trying to view any chapters. Been a few days like this. I've run multiple tests and it's not my net, everywhere else is fine except for MangaDex.

Images from older chapters have been loading slow for me for the past ~week, although I haven't had any images fail to load outright. Random stuff I tried/discovered:

-Recent chapters (i.e. where the chapters are served from mangadex.org) load fine, it's only older chapters (where images are served from s2.mangadex.org or s5.mangadex.org) where loading is slow. Which image server I use doesn't seem to make a difference.
-Some older chapters load fast, but most are slow. There seem to be "pockets" of chapter that load fast but I haven't noticed any pattern beyond that. Every manga I've checked (that has old enough chapters) is affected
-I tried all the usual troubleshooting stuff, clearing cookies/cache, disabling browser extensions, etc. Nothing made a difference
- I'm on desktop Firefox but get the same behavior on other browsers/mobile
-No odd behavior on other sites, just mangadex

I’ve noticed the number of old chapters loading slow has decreased over time so it being a cache thing makes sense.

@AbyssalMonkey yeah, was talking about the new chapters, or the site as a whole. There are times here that the new or old chapters alike loading very slow, but using vpns outside the region and all of them instanly finish loading.
