By erasing the chainsaw devil, everything went back to if it had never existed. Because we see Nayuta and not Makima, all the devils that got eaten by the chainsaw remain eaten. But thematically? Any memory resetting ending always seems to imply everything that happened was a mistake, and here that includes all of Denji’s struggles.

It’s a happier ending than Oshi no Ko, but Aqua’s character arc kinda made more sense than what Denji’s turned out to be.

The magazine has confirmed there will be no part 3. Thank you Pochita, thank you Denji. This is a manga I will surely re-read.

Although it was disapointing to see the get power back plotline dropped... and Nayuta replace Makima for no reason. And Pochita's powers not respecting the rules that were stablished before.

"I'm confused, is this a happy ending or a sad ending?"
"It's an ending, that's enough."

No part three, for now. It honestly looks like pochita is more powerful than the future devil, and if you look closely, he is STILL denji's heart. Denji was also called chainsawman, and he said "that devil" when referring to asa. So no this isn't and end. This is a clifhanger.

Whattttt the hell. This feels like an AXE ENDING??? Why fujimotors are you ending one of the most successful current mangas like THIS???

What is happening

AoT, Oshi no Ko, Kaguya-sama, and now Chainsawman???? What are with these terrible endings?? Like, Game of Thrones, Star Wars, etc. I feel like we’re in the era of slop?????
don't forget JJK...
now I wonder: which manga has ever had a great ending?

I HATE this ending. I HATE IT.:mad::mad::mad:

I've always loved Chainsawman for the tone always closer to the cosmic horror, almost lovecraftian, and the complete madness. One of the best manga I've ever read.

We were supposed to see the death devil descending to earth.

The end of part 1 was peak, part 2 feels terrible incomplete. It's clear the author is tired and he has no idea how to end it, so he choose the worst possible way.

"it's all just a dream" ahh ending. i mean, i understand what fujimoto try to convey, doesn't make it any less infuriating. it just, bunch whole of nothing. simply retconning and second chance. it was still wild journey tho, i give him some credit for that. 7/10.

Listen up, Fujimoto.

In the world of Chainsaw Man, the Death Devil is more than just another antagonist, it represents the pinnacle of the Primal Fear hierarchy. In narrative terms, it occupies the same role as Azathoth or Nyarlathotep in cosmic horror, the Singularity in science fiction, or the asteroid in a disaster film. When you introduce a force of that magnitude, you cannot treat it as a secondary element or leave it lingering in the background. Keeping it offstage carries significant narrative consequences. This is not a matter of personal preference; it is a matter of structural integrity.

What we are left with is escalation without detonation. The story methodically built toward the Nostradamus prophecy, the rise of the Primal Devils, and the end of the world as an imminent certainty. That is classic narrative escalation. And yet, in the end, there is no decisive manifestation, no irreversible transformation of the world, and no ultimate price paid on a cosmic scale. All that remains is tension that has been carefully accumulated over time, without the catharsis that was implicitly promised.

The Nostradamus prophecy was literally fulfilled. Bug devils took over hell and earth and brought forth the apocalypse. The prophecy had shifted from death to war, then to bugs, as the hairbringer.

Pretty surprising how many people got all the way through pt2 thinking that Fujimoto was ever going to have an ending that was about powerscaling and epic showdowns- if there was any doubt "Michigan Sword!" should have clued you in

Not to mention we just got one of those with JJK and everyone hated that too

Wait is this just Stone Oceans ending, but done poorly and out of nowhere?
Not really, because in Stone Ocean
the universe didn't reset.
Pucci's plan failed miserably because of Emporio and the only thing that happened is that Pucci was erased from reality, what we see at the ending of Stone Ocean is a universe were Pucci never was, so he didn't meddle with Jolyne's life.

It's not good or bad. Plotwise, Denji and Pochita did somewhat achieve it, but Denji did get the better ending as together they did erase a lot of the Devil's that troubled them throughout the chapters which also includes Makima.

Like other people reaction, I was also burnt out of this manga, but an ending is an ending

I wanted to see the death devil, or at least, some super cosmic horror devil like the darkness devil!!!

Tf is this ending bro, Denji never got to smash and all that chainsaw man bizz was all for nothing? Bro, no way in hell the author basically killed denji for the plot to end so suddenly. It felt like a lot more was about to happen, only for it to be extinguished... this shit left a scour taste in my mouth...

Man this ending is so lame. I'm just going to pretend part 2 didn't happen, Fujimoto clearly did not know how he wanted this story to go past a certain point.

The new Universe at the end of stone ocean was not just one where Pucci never existed, but also one where the Joestars are free from their fated role of fighting evil, that’s why Jolyne’s name was Irene. As far as we know it’s an entirely normal world, not just one without pucci who was erased because he existed outside of fate. He stopped the acceleration of time at the beginning of stone ocean because he knew emporio would be there so he could kill him. He however accidentally changed fate to allow emporio to kill him instead before he would get to the point in time in the new universe where he enacts the heaven plan thus deleting the restarted stone ocean universe where everyone knew their fate and anyone who died in the previous universe was replaced with a substitute. For some reason this resulted in the creation of a new unique universe where For some reason the characters who died came back, but had different lives.
