Fujimoto probably thinks this is the best ending for Denji, since he would sees him from his perspective, as someone that work his way to the very top, he started with oneshots, win awards, then go on to write many great works. He may have achieve many things, but is still unhappy somewhere within his heart, and he was probably happiest when he was still chasing that dream while being young, even with just one ball.

Actually, after seeing some theories, I'm convinced that Pochita is neither the Chainsaw Devil, nor was he alive until this panel. Pochita is the Hope (Devil?).

I'm more the demon of oblivion/forgetfulness theory.
I stopped believing he was the devil of chainsaws since the last arcs of part one, since he was too broken and was called "chainsawman" by every devils and not even once "the chainsaw devil"

i have come to the conclusion that denji lost to the crescent devil(dream devil) and is trapped in its dream. there is no escape, not even threw death, hes stuck in its stomach forever.
