So, not turning up in mirrors/photos is due to silver being used in them. Silver is the historical "purity/anti evil" metal and it is why it shows up in this and Werewolves. It isn't common to put silver in mirrors and camera sensors anymore because silver is expensive.

So Vampires should show up in them for anything modern and would be a shock for them if they lived a long ass time since it would be new for them to be able to do that, but since people do not seem to remember WHY Vampires cannot be seen in mirrors or photos, that never happens.
