Several things:

1-Mina's a bitch for still accepting the gift without giving proper thx at least.

2-Noel defense is just as impure because it's on the same spectrum as Maki's intention.

3-Do not pet them after scolding them. They made a mistake and should understand that you are disappointed with their behavior. Their consolation should come after they've improved.

4-You just answered your own question when you said "What authority does the Lord have in this store". You are on his lands and that gives him all the authority he needs to march a small army to crush your house into the dirt. While I do agree that proper communication is lacking and compensation should be made for this blunder, do not delude yourself into thinking that this is a democracy and all men are equal.
