I still find Tene to be on the right side, she was the one that was done dirty from Aria for no reason.
We were cheering for the bad side this time.
Is complex, would be nice if MC could go and resurrect her whole village and then her, but it would be a weird ending and I doubt the author would do it.
We always have. This is not a tale of good and evil, you're reading a tale about the other side between humans and demon kings. Humans are the enemies and humans have been treated as such. Usually the demon king in these tales are kind and/or looking to promote peace. Aria isn't like that. She's a very demon-like demon king, she protects her allies and heartlessly kills her enemies.
If Tene is right in killing everyone connected to Aria, then in any story where a human king has a innocent demon town slaughtered a survivor has the right to kill everyone connected to the king plus if the hero/mc stops them, they would become the bad guy.

IMHO Tene is entitled to her revenge against Aria and Rose but only those two. When she killed the elf sisters and got herself killed killing best girl when she was fast enough to simply ignore her, she was no longer in the right.

It's not that you're statements are wrong, its that they only pertain to the morality of our world. While it's not wrong to view a story thrue the lens of your own morality, doing so while completely ignoring the base morality of the setting means any statements you make will be flawed.

In this world there is no good or evil, only shades of gray. All sides are amoral bastards capable of monstrous acts and benevolence. You're not wrong to say Tenebres had a valid reason to hate Aria and seek revenge. But it does feel slightly hypocritical to say that Licht or the dozen or so other named characters in this story doesn't deserve the same.

"Might makes right? How would you feel if I tortured and murdered all your friends in front of you since I'm stronger than you all?"

"That would be pretty based, actually"

This demon lord, bruh.

Coming from the same hate bandwagons in Maou no Musume, I'm saying this again - Japan may have a point when saying piracy affects their sale.

The story was laid clear from the beginning. MC got betrayed by humanity, swore revenge, found a group of insanely strong demons, got recruited by them, and aided them in their conquest against other 3 demon lords. Humanity played little in the story, and they have always been in combat against the demon (Rose's castle invasion, Mizuki's home under siege for failing to side with humanity, Faris' sister forced to slave for humans). After all that, we're witnessing human's final attack with a strong ally in the name of Tenebres - she needed a strong motivation against demons, and she had. If this was any other isekai story, she'd be the MC, win the game and lived happily ever after. Instead, this is Licht's story, and naturally he prevailed.

Just like with Maou no Musume, I'm seeing a concerning trend here - readers of a "particular" story narrative coming across a series that goes against their expectation, and rather than dropping it, they stuck around and throw criticism that made no sense (given the series' setting). This series reached its ending after 10 volumes, it was popular enough to stay relevant till the end because JP readers actually voted. The global audiences simply consumed free scanlations and complain like they're entitled to the product.
he did not get betrayed by humanity he got betrayed by his party the amount of people that can be counted on 1 hand are you seriously trying to say that they represented the collective will of the entire race to kill him by that logic every betrayed by the party story justifies an mc betraying and killing their whole race 😂😂

And tf is the point of your random off topic rant about piracy when your using the same site

Not much point dropping a series on the last 3 chapters

And most importantly the main cast were NEVER portrayed as hedonistic monsters till these last chapters if they were portrayed as villains from the start no one would be saying anything but they werent portrayed this way throughout the story which created the cognitive dissonance ive pointed out

Also your example story makes zero sense the story was marketed as fluff from start to finish this story and that are utterly different in their messaging this was like a Game of Thrones ending random and unhinged a Kings Landing reveal out of left field

no im pretty sure murdering entire villages of woman and children was a crime and immoral in every time period both in real life and 100% of fiction regardless of "reasons" (especially if your killing people for amusement)

By your logic if i murdered your whole family just for living in the town that slighted me to bad for you the second half of your comment didnt even make sense there is ALWAYS GOOD AND BAD in the world it doesnt have to be written on a wall saying good and evil exists thats just common sense

What the lot of you seem to have a very common affliction in the reading community is an MC BIAS

In Chinese stories it's not all that uncommon to kill entire extended families under some twisted sense of collective guilt. I've long since lost interest in the near constant rape of Jaded White Beauties, the nonsensical violence, and the ever present racism that is written in xainxai and wuxai novels.

Fantasy novels also frequently show bandits, demons, beasts, and or foreign army's burning villages to the ground with the inhabitants slaughtered and or enslaved. But the level of stupidity varies.

As for IRL, you really need to brush up on your history, or even just turn on the news... because it happens much more often then you seem aware.

Also those war crime laws that you are inevitably about to quote. Seem they were only codified around for around 70ish years ago. And even then, a few key nations forgot to sign.

So even on modern Earth, it's only a crime if someone has the power to bring you into court, and press charges.

By your logic if i murdered your whole family just for living in the town that slighted me to bad for you
LMAO! NGL, I very much doubt you would be any kind of threat to my family in a fantasy setting... even if we were in a similar setting to this story's, if we were so weak as to be so threatened by a child, it would be our own fault for being so incompetent.

See that's the thing, good and evil coined as religious concepts. Concepts that have been so twisted that they have lost most of their value in my eyes. I have long since based most of my values on what I deem moral, amoral, and immoral.

I hope you can agree killing people without cause is immoral, and needless violence is amoral. But i find those that talk in terms if good and evil are just hypocrites who claim they are all about community and equality, but their talking points are racist and fear mongering.

The end is nigh, they're corrupting our children, and eating your neighbor's pets...

In most cases its just pure propaganda and bullshit.

What the lot of you seem to have a very common affliction in the reading community is an MC BIAS
That's your opinion, OTOH I think its more that you are so stuck in your echo chamber, and that you are woefully unprepared to comprehend how other modern cultures, especially one in an different universe, could be different from your own.

Pretty sure being handed an execution by THE KING is a humanity betrayal as a whole. Assuming MC ran away, do you seriously think other humans would shelter him, or just hand him over to the nearest guard for a bag of gold?

I do buy every single magazine issue and the volume itself. At the very least I am supporting my favorite authors no matter how small it is.

And most importantly the main cast were NEVER portrayed as hedonistic monsters till these last chapters if they were portrayed as villains from the start no one would be saying anything but they werent portrayed this way throughout the story which created the cognitive dissonance ive pointed out
Dude, they straight up murdered the entire adventurer party including that NPC healer at the beginning (that did no harm to MC), slaughtered many human adventurers along their way and even tried to armstrong Rael into joining their rank. Even as close as Chapter 35 Rose silenced a group of village girls going for a swim. You're the one reading it with that notation.

Also your example story makes zero sense the story was marketed as fluff from start to finish this story and that are utterly different in their messaging this was like a Game of Thrones ending random and unhinged a Kings Landing reveal out of left field
Just to clear up the confusion, I'm talking about this Maou no Musume, not the fluff one.
