Honestly, what could she have possibly done that would undermine all that she had done for him?
Not being able to carry a child. Also, she sacrificed too much amd didn't make any compromise on helping him, making the emperor an ass who believes she is expendable. Because she acted as if she was actually expendable.
It's cruel but I think the only thing that could have done is doing less. Even if it would've prevented her loved one to become the emperor, there has to be a limit to the sacrifices.
