Well, that was obviously an axe...
Characters were written quite well actually for a simple rom-com, maybe not the deepest as most people hoped for, this is obviously not a story like that, it's a simple dish.
Arima - his main issue is confidence and overthinking, not to mention childhood friend who gives away dubious hints.
Yukihara - started of as an observer and kept going despite having some feelings towards Arima, but seeing her classmates interact, deciding to support their "relationship". Shame the final chapter revealed that although as "Arima x Miyahara", Maki only share common interests, not romantic, but it was clear from the start.
Yukihara - although she is precious little gem, friendly to anyone especially Arima, don't think she understands what she is doing or have romantic feelings, she likes him but as a childhood friend and perhaps is even
aromantic, which would explain her lack of romantic interest in Arima.
Story was fun to read, had cliché love rival and even a subversive one that kept their relationship on the right track and I'm talking about Arima and Yukihara because there actually was nothing between Miyahara a part good friends so no Miyahara, not you.
For anyone expecting more than that though, they're middle schoolers, it's surprising most a part Miyahara even considering romantic interest, maybe if the story would continue throughout till highschool years it would get a "proper ending" but as mentioned at start, it was axed.
I'll give it a 7/10 because it was a fun read, but sadly too short.
