I can't believe they're throwing that other Japanese girl into prison for 5 years for "illegally mining magic stones". It's obvious that she was being manipulated by another country, and since she's a fresh summon there's no way she would be familiar with the laws- let alone the ones of a neighboring country.

The legal system in the MC's country seems pretty harsh and arbitrary.

@Qelix I think they pointed out before, that mindreading is very likely to fail, and wreck the mind of the caster, if the victim resists in any way. You would probably need a cheat esper Japanese person, to be able to make any use of that skill.

@Lulpin she's lucky they only got her on the illegal mining, and construction, in foreign territory, instead of the colluding with a foreign military, or invading of that fishing village's territory. She could have been another Mitsuki, if that Fanulus guy's mindcontrol had actually worked on her.

So he's pretty high in hierarchy. If they are talking about a lord it's most likely going to be Rockhammer. We haven't been introduced to anyone of higher peerage. This is why Mutsuki's attack was especially egregious. While Mitsuba called him a villain because of his looks (chapter 9), she didn't actually attack him.

Some of you guys sound pretty naive. There's probably no country in our world that accepts ignorance of the laws as an excuse. Being used by someone doesn't matter either, you committed a crime whether you knew it or not and whether someone else gave you the idea or not. Honestly 5 years probably isn't that much for violating a border and assaulting the people who come to investigate what you're doing. Before one of you says "but it was the guards that attacked, not Nanana," who do you think spawned those monsters that disappeared on death? If she's not responsible for what her powers do, then who is?

The prison she's going to is practically a vacation spa too. By the time they've actually earned her trust and she's earned theirs, they can always let her out earlier if need be. Parole for good behavior or something. We've already seen that they're fine with reducing sentences for stuff like that with someone else... it's just that person made an ass of themselves repeatedly while working towards a reduction and she didn't get much out of it this time.
