Why can they never be a constructive presence in the narrative?

I was kind of expecting (with the summary (implied he hadnt seen her in years) a situation where it was like they were adults or something (the volume cover atm makes the girl it shows look like an adult, so...), maybe some actual drama.

What I got was (self-inserting author?) another herbivore MC in high school with zero testosterone in a harem that goes nowhere for 1000 chapters number 28792789234879.

If you want a story that isn't a copypasta herbivore/beta MC having zero spine to reciprocate interest of multiple bishoujous that genuinely like him, don't bother. So tiresome how many works get dozens of chapters while I've seen several great stories get axed/rushed the past few years.

I'm convinced the bigger demographic would just consume about anything at this point, giving this manga a 7.4 rating is one of the biggest cap I've seen this year second only to the Alya manga receiving a rating of 9.1. It doesn't deserve a rating higher than 4

This started decently, but turned into one of the worst blatant harem mangas I have ever read. I do not understand the need for authors to ruin a great story pike that.

Why drag this into a harem man the title basically gives away the winner and the plot is so meh, if can't be bothered wondering why mc thinks of himself that way and I bet it's a stupid reason aswell, anyways if ur looking for a mc whose inner monologs ae always "no way she liked me I'm boring" or "I don't deserve her she's an idol and I'm a background character" than this is the manga for you.
