Because Ma-Ke shouted out in front of everyone that he is the first one and then everyone wanted to hunt him down and have a match and he had not one second of peace since then.
If Ma-Ke didn't do that, no one would've known his face and he could've been under the radar until this second round of examination.

Although I do think he's overreacting. Ma-Ke is overreacting, too. Calling him "boss" and whining xD
