The author really ruined this arc by showing us the slaves and hate fot demihumans. Im finding it hard to sympathize with her because of her shit country. Why help this country who sacrifice demi humans and slaves as "distraction" for their political agendas. F this country they don't value the lives of those people.

I bet MC will also help the demon lord/king or whatever he's called in this shit manga despite his wiping out the Captain's squad. That's just how shonen work I guess.
