Ugh... Author's love for aircraft and guns is so fucking overbearing. I can't take any of the combat or dangerous situations in this manga seriously when the enemies are just using conventional close-combat medieval weapons while he's using an entire arsenal of modern weaponry, it's just so ridiculous.

The choices we make in life can have dire consequences in time.

Having a pissed off mage dive bombing your armies with crushed ice because you took his girl, for example.

I’m holding off on the novel even though it’s pretty short, but I hope this picks up the pace a bit. Some people gotta die…
Patience. Our lad Allen isn't ever in a forgiving mood when it comes to the safety and well being of his girl.

From what I read from the web novel
They still couldn't rape her, but that doesn't mean they can't torment or torture her body. She is allowed to bathe but the magic sealing ropes are replaced with a collar instead. Anastasia believes they won't be able to break her since she has the protection of the spirits despite not being able to use magic. They lock her up in the dungeon with only bread and water in complete darkness, which they intend to last for a year until she breaks and becomes a soldier of the empire.
Good info, thanks. Major mixed feelings about it -- Japanese manga tends to struggle between the extremes of gratuitous attempted sexual assault sometimes played up for fanservice even vs. contrived and instant feel-good kidnapping resolutions, but I don't really know if I have a perfect better solution for how to talk about it in terms of plot and storytelling. This one I've noticed has been especially haphazard in terms of adult content.

Just goes to show that torture and abuse can come in many forms if the person in question is creative enough

Honestly, this might be even better since it shows the horrors that can come from a creative tormentor while also acknowledging the issues you brought up.

Friendly reminder that cluster bombs are a violation of the Geneva Suggestion.
You mean they are an item on the geneva checklist.

Also, I kind of like that the manga cut out the scene in the novel where the mc girl tries giving a speech and is promptly told to stfu. Though it does show her descent into being a witch.

man... should've been White Phosphorus instead and using Wind Magic for Allen to loudly convey:

"Welcome to Dubai." :dogkek:

...a what
Anti-rape magic? Thats autism writing

Talk about contrived nonsense for an already fucking terrible story arc
Agreed but then again this isn't new information, it was literally shown last chapter. Though they most likely found other ways to torture her that didn't involve sexual abuse given the state she's in.

It's a pendant that protects against physical harm. It was shown even earlier when someone tried to grab her and it blasted them back.

Either way it's still a blessing from the spirits that prevented her from getting raped, which I said was shown last chapter and now it's being restated by you.

And just to double down on it I just saw another comment by a novel reader confirming it prevented her from being raped.

i'm surprised allen this quickly thought up a new aircraft able to hold this kind of ammunition. felt like he had to do alot more rinse and repeat, trial and errors, on his first one. and his ammunition in itself is quite the ingenious idea. and while i realise he'd been using magic all the time for his weapons and his glider, he's now expanding the usage for magic weaponry, quite a big step up, so i hope his magic reserves are keeping up.
I think he said that he was an aeronautical engineer, which must have helped. But getting all of those systems to work would normally take a fair number of cycles at the Skunkworks.

I really, really love isekai stories where the MC shows some ingenuity. Instead of just inventing Reversi and the water pump, they try to figure out the fundamentals of how magic works in order to create new uses. Must water magic only generate a stream of water from the hands? Can it create water some distance away? How about making water inside a closed container? How about creating water inside someone's lungs, or inside the blood vessels of the brain?

In the manga GATE, Leilei studies our world's natural science in order to improve her magical control. Knowing the nature of fire or water or gravity can make "visualization" a different game. She then created magical shaped charges that could blow through armor.
