The other possibility is they figured out loopholes on the charm, such as not approaching her with lust on the brain or smacking her from a distance. technically, though it may be ok in this case I'll say it for clarity, there are war crimes that can be commited against enemy soldiers. It' isn't just a matter of civilians or civilian infurstructor. Certain kinds of weaponry or certain treatments toward enemy soldiers are still considered criminal.
