Shouldn't it be enough to make it STOL, at least at first? Some of the small ones need an unrealistically short looking runway, especially for landing, such as the Fieseler Storch. I reckon he could shorten the take off distance as well with magic and knowledge. In any case it should be simpler than VTOL, which is quite challenging. But then again, this is an exceedingly simple and convenient manga, so I doubt he will encounter any problems, no matter what he does.

As someone pointed out in a previous chapter, the artist definitely has a fetish for naked young boys. Even the "casual clothes" MC used to go around town resemble more medieval sleeping wear than anything.

Yeah good point, WHY is it not a vtol?
Surely theres hardly a difference between shooting air magic back or down.
Allen : <frantically drawing blueprints for an upgraded version of his glider> Ask, and you may receive. :geek:

Assuming Allen has all his engineer memories. Could he actively use his alchemy to make highly advanced technical marvels?
Such as stealth composites, internal combustion engines, naval cannons?

I think the issue is how much magic he can control at one time right now as he has to cast to run the engine. Adding additional components that need magic casting is the problem.

Hmm, I don't think so. Modern marvels can quickly become extremely complex.

I'm used to fiddling with internal combustion engines, for example, and I know of firsthand what level of engineering they do contain. Even the simpliest ones, such as a lawn mower's. So I can't even picture Allen crafting a carburettor or an ignition system, not without ending up half-dead from the struggle anyway... The amount of precision and various materials required simply needs industrial power from a nation's level.

Therefore, you should have noticed his glider doesn't even have any instrument panel, which is an obligatory feature for any tourist airplane though (even a civil glider). And that fully-equipped part, alone, costs the same as a whole premium car. Yes, that stack of high-end precision flight instruments is built with maximum accuracy and reliabilty in mind. It comes at a price...
And so I can foresee a hard limitation there : his glider will only be able to operate in daylight, clear skies and at low altitude.

And now for something a bit lighter... :giggle:

Isn't it much easier to solve the problem of controlling engine thrust with some simple engineering rather than learning difficult spells? For example, make a basic mechanical valve-type nozzle flap.
