@Glomoro That they don't talk about it is not surprising. The drama in other places are only concerning two persons, and are "easier" talked through. But this situation is completely different. Mei has responsibility towards her family as heiress and is bound to the conventions she has grown up in. So for her to chose between two lifes is a major decision, that she can not just present to her "one year school romance" and say screw it. She is more than ever deeply conflicted. With the last fiance she just put up for facade, and she was willing to do so to meet the society "standards" she was raised in. But now that she actualy is in love, she has it far tougher then pretending. And she knows what it is at stake, if she decides the one way or the other. This is nothing you can just talk about and have a resolution in a simple discussion. Also the least that she wants is a big argument with Yuzu.
Having the outside perspective is only a bonus that we readers have. But it is still only interpretation of what is given by the writer, however even the writer doesn't express everything what is in the protagonists minds. So in the end you can only follow with the flow.
