About the same time gap since the previous update, but only a 6-chapter drop, with a "next update is undecided" message? This is basically saying the author doesn't know where they want to take this.

It's possible this is the sudden end of this series... 😢
ugh dont even hoke about it.... maybe he was forced to do the last plotline? ugh

Dang, it really pains me to see Maki in this kind of situation... I relate somewhat, but I guess I was lucky because it happened when I was very little

I can't imagine the amount of turmoil you must feel going through this kind of event as a teen... Specially when both parents really aren't communicating properly, and you just feel lost the whole time

Man I just wanna give Maki a big hug!!:qq::qq:
I was in my late teens and it hurt alot, hearing your parents tear into each other while trying to act normal for your younger sibling. Realising your whole world is crumbling, I can still remember just crying my eyes out while listening to them.

My own dad remarried with my stepmom when I was young (still together to this day), so I can't remember how awkward and new it was getting to know her, but I can only imagine how complicated it is knowing your parents are loving someone else who isn't part of the family, especially when you're going through your own complications of growing up (puberty, relationships, the gist). What happens after divorces happen very differently for everyone, just as how love is, but I think what's important here is whether the child and divorced parent still see each other as family would depend on the strength of their mutual feelings and how willing they are to reach out to each other. How much are they willing to open up about the truth that led to the separation of their family, and why do the separated child/parent still matter to them despite that?

The dad may not love his ex-wife anymore, but he still cares for his own son and wants to be a part of his life, to some extent. Whether that feeling has also died down at this moment, we can only wait to see, but with how quickly he tried bailing on the conversation when the wife/mother came up, despite how much Maki wanted to know the truth, things honestly don't look good for the dad.
To be fair and honest, I think all parents should just open up the reasons behind their falling out. Why? So that the kids can learn about building a family. Putting the kids in the dark will leave a deep wound to them.

Oh bro... You have to spoil me please.
well, if you insist. Here you go my friend:
so basically, he would eventually explain his whole family situation to umi (he actually did tell her earlier when they both first made their feelings known in the novel). He would also at one point be invited over to umi's house to have dinner with her and her family but would break down there and be comforted by umi. Umi's family would then advise him on how they can help him. He would use the idea and fact that he is "still a child" to get his dad and mom together one final time on that christmas event thing they are going to to have a picture together, allowing his family and himself to get closure. He would then confess properly to umi and they'll get together frfr after that

Yeah, I'd like to think partially because of our parents' divorce, while I'm not sure of my brother who currently has a girlfriend and both of them are living with our mom, neither my little sister and I have any plans of having kids, which is the main reason for two people to marry to make a family. I'm pretty estranged from my mother, too, who we've all known likes to draw drama to herself like a sponge and don't want to put up with. Still see her on rare occasions, but I'd rather not if I had the choice.

Currently trying to di this. After their break up I can't seem to see them the same anymore, even though ten years have passed, and supposedly "time heals". Yet debts of life truly prevents me from moving out completely.

He's being so evasive! Maki just wants to know what happened to his world.

bro i can't like this arc because it looks like the author excuse to prolong mc romance that should already be a reality now, start this arc after they were already dating and i woudn't complain but showing all this while having mc chicken out his confession because of a love story between adults that he still don't understand is simply annoying

Those questions are something an elementary schooler might ask their divorced parents. "Daddy, do you still love mommy?" bffr

The dad is entitled to date whoever he wants, but to just walk off without a word when the conversation gets serious, what a spineless piece of shit.

He didn't want his son prying into his private affairs. He had no obligation to discuss it with Maki and Maki did not appear he was going to stop his questions. He's divorced from Maki's mother so who he dates and why is not Maki's business.

For one thing, great way to build trust with your teenage son. Yeah, he's not legally obligated to answer his questions about who he's seeing and why they got divorced, but he's a shitty dad if he doesn't, in my opinion. Secondly, even if he's not gonna tell him, it's still a fucking asshole thing to just ignore him, pretend not to hear him and walk out. If he intends to keep it secret for whatever reason, he can just use his mouth and explain that.
