Dodged a bullet there, gotta give credit to Maki for 1) quick thinking on his part, calling Umi so she could hear the situation and for 2) having the guts to say no and not get dragged along like a typically weak protagonist would've.

I also liked that Yuu inadvertently called out her friends on not wanting Maki to join them, clearly they didn't want to (especially the dudes), but were forced to fake it like the yes men they are rather than expose themselves and lose face with her.
