I like that from the start, he was never portrayed as somebody unreasonable or overly controlling, so it made the reveal that he was accepting a lot more believable.
Honestly i really pity characters like Mana's Dad here. They're always awkwardly misunderstood. But respect to the Dad he had the backbone to correct the misunderstanding
the father being totally cool with it was not on my bingo card. he was simply a dad that cared too much about his daughter. this is why proper communication is a key to healthy relationships because you really have no clue what the other person is really thinking unless you voice your honest thought vocally. if it doesnt work out even after all that then you can cut off the relationship.
