Of course it's on me, it's my opinion. Reading the first few chapters I already thought it was a bit too cringy but I pressed on thinking it'd get better, only to find more of the same thing.

Plus, this manga has the annoying problem that most shounen romcom has, characters getting flustered over every little thing and acting downright retarded at times. Of course, not every chapter is like that and it does have genuinely good moments here and there but the cringe kid's moments are more abundant, especially when Shisei is on screen.

I do like it better than this story, but stories like that tend to crash and burn really easily (and a lot). Devilish Junior has better chemistry and dialogue but this has a way clearer progression and direction with the story so in a way they kind of swapped qualities.

At the point I'm reading right now (I'm on chapter 6), Devilish Junior is superior but I've seen plenty of stories like that fall quite hard because of the unclear direction (and they can be quite fast too). I just hope they handle the inevitable reunion with the ex better than many others.

Edit: Ok... on chapter 12, Now the story of Devilish Junior is getting pretty annoying.
