I would hate on himari, but it really is akane’s fault that it got to the point. Saito is also partially to blame, but I feel like akane’s decision to let herself be cucked invalidates feeling bad for her getting cucked. I also like that Himari, while she does like Saito, doesn’t actually want to win, which I see a lot of people mentioning. She is urging Akane to take action and take back Saito. Lets see how this goes

Feels like 3 chapters put into one lmao
you know what, THAT's the problem i have that I couldn't articulate into words in my own post. this chapter had so much development ALL at once in less than 20 pages, that we barely get any room to breathe for any of the characters to properly process what just happened, ESPECIALLY with Saito.

I personally cannot stand when a male MC barely has a reaction to the weird melodramatic nonsense that happens around him, particularly when it comes to multiple girls having romantic feelings for him at the same time, the typical harem genre scenario. it reeks of "this is the male fantasy!" and supposes that we (the majority male audience) would project ourselves into this scenario... like, no?? I wanna know how Saito really feels here.

Himari literally says "I love you" to him, and we don't even get to see how he reacts?? does he NOT know that Himari is seriously in love with him? like not as part of the bit? its personally infuriating for me. and then the chapter just... moves on to him getting a cake for Akane. and she makes NO mention to Saito that she knows Himari kissed him, you'd THINK she'd bring that up.

But who knows, maybe she'll do that next chapter. but as you said, too much has happened already, as if the manga itself is rushing to a conclusion too quickly.

Although Shisei is the best character in this manga, slowly but surely Himari is showing how based she can be.

Thank you for the translation (Akane still has...nice boobs I guess. I liked how her boobs were shown on pg 16 at least. Sigh).

We almost come to end of our journey.
The moment Himari lost and Akari win, I will throw this serie to graveyard like others.

Thanks for translation

Goddamit author.. I mean I like the FMC but why do you insist on giving us such a likeable losing sub-heroine! :meguuusad:

Himari deserves really deserves the win.

Heart. Pupils.

is that kiss considered sexual assault lmfao

i mean i know Saito is "technically" fair game (ironically by law, he isn't cuz he's engaged lol), but i'm more baffled by the fact that he barely has any reaction to it, i'd at least expect him to address it while he's talking to Himari, but he barely says... anything? to her... he comes off as an NPC in his own fake relationship with Himari, barely any reaction, just literally two words, and thats it, Himari does most of the talking.

Not to mention that Akane doesn't even bring it up to Saito, and he doesn't make ANY mention of that kiss to her, either... he almost feels like a plot device that things happen to. but maybe next chapter they will talk about it. for now as it stands, Saito is no different from any other harem MC. he comes off as DDLC MC-coded, esp in the second half of that game where the MC barely says anything and you're just forced to watch the characters self-destruct lol
Married. Not engaged. I also don't think there's any legal ground around engagements. It's just a promise to get married in the future after all. And promises can so easily be broken without repercussions.
Also, that kiss fried his brain. As can be seen on the next page. Where he barely responds to Shisei and that other girl.

I know you're playing the villain, Blondie, but that was a dick move
Hey she genuinely loves the dude and her “rival” is doing nothing but dragging her feet and continuing to be a tsuntsun bitch like a year into the marriage. She’s 100% in her right to play her hand as openly as she wants. It’s “put up or shut up” time for Akane and it has been for a long time.

The more the character reacts, the more difficult it is to self insert

i think I'm fundamentally incapable of understanding the people rooting for himari after all the shady shit she pulled, and thinking about it it might be due to the fact that I'm looking at this story more from akane's pov than from anywhere else - and i think how i feel about himari atm is pretty understandable if you look at it from the lens of: "my best and only friend since childhood knows about my current relationship situation and the fact that I'm having a hard time expressing my feelings properly, but instead of helping me - or even just not doing anything - she's actively trying to steal my SO away under the guise of 'helping us', and she's still at it even after seeing how much it hurts me." - like i genuinely can't think of a worse feeling than being betrayed like this by the person you felt closest to beforehand.
it's a good thing that saito still seems to choose akane over himari because the double whammy of having your closest and only friend backstab you along with your SO leaving you for that same friend at the same time is absolutely something that could drive someone into deep depression, and perhaps even to the point of suicide due to having basically their entire emotional safety net turn against them.

the fact that himari knows the effects that her actions have on akane, yet she continues to do them regardless, feels like a huge red flag to me - not just relationship-wise, but as a human being: a person who's willing to betray their best friend like that cannot be trusted.

Consider it from Himari’s perspective. The man she loves is being dragged around left, right, and center by a girl who won’t be honest with him OR with you OR with herself and who shows 0 signs of ever actually doing so. She’s not even fighting for him no matter how hard you push her. In the meantime people are trying to push through the gaps to take him from her, why WOULDN’T you take a shot at him? Yes she’s your friend but she’s also fumbling the bag like it was her sole mission on Earth. Clearly if Akane is left to her own devices she’s going to lose him regardless, and then you find yourself in a position to have a fake relationship with him BECAUSE she won’t own up to anything. At this point if Himari doesn’t make a move they’re BOTH going to lose out, at least this way one of them has a chance of winning.

Yeah, but the FMC literally saved the Blondie... I know what the author is trying to do, but don't fancy the execution
