Not really. If anything, it just seemed like she knew that he was rich and planned it from there, with it all working out since she actually did fall in love with him and him being handsome (which she only found out after going to his house). If I remember right, even her dad said that she was calculative and likely barged her way into his life (something I doubt any of them denied). Keep in mind, with the exception of treating him like air, she was pretty honest with him about everything. As for him not seeming rich now, it was established that both their parents would support them until they became adults.
Now it's been awhile since I read this, but I don't recall them establishing that she always loved him or the reason she treated him like air in the first place. As such, I'm of the opinion that her feelings of affection became genuine later on, unlike her daughter, which was from the start.
