My current headcanon is that the secret reason the guy's parents took her in was to get her away from her mother. Though, they couldn't say that to the mother or the mother would demand even more money from them, I imagine.

I'm hoping it doesn't suddenly end now that it's actually gained depth. I was previously just reading this for boobs.
