Can't say I'm pleased with the change in direction. This revelation about hidden ancient prophecies controlling the fate of all of humanity and even the Devil Beasts is hokey and cliched. None of it really changes the original themes of man vs nature or the need for an expansion of the habitable zones for humanity. I don't really understand why Clenn became so disillusioned or suddenly attached to Luna for that matter except it was convenient for the plot. The stupid humans doing stupid things for stupid reasons like a book told them to seems pretty inline with his prior assessment. But no, realizing they were manipulated he's suddenly remorseful and pities them? He didn't feel anything for poor helpless Nellie.
he became disillusioned because he felt he was also a piece on the chessboard of another entity, he was having an identity crisis so that's why he was pretty much "f*ck it, I'm outta here", and Alicia actually became a hero at that moment as pretty much Clenn would take his powers back and Dorel would have won the fight but not the war (as he took the book), also Alicia made the point of Clenn's reason to take the kid and test mankind by himself, even letting Luna walk to his mother was a test on itself.

Clenn is having a lot of fun with this

Dorrel had the death he deserved... a pathetic one, like a fart taken by the wind, I am actually very satisfied with that, I don't think he deserved anything dignified.

Since his introduction, the fucker has been not if not annoying, he destroyed people's livelihoods, killed his old friend and apprentice, and during all that shit he has been screaming about how people didn't try enough to be free... as he practically enslaved them... there is being a holier-than-thou asshole... and there is being this loser.

I am impressed by the author achieving that, making a satisfying villain to hate is hard enough... but making one that you find pathetic, then giving him an equally pathetic death and making it satisfying is even harder.
the demonic doggo is enjoying his freedom that's for sure.
I didn't feel that his death was that pathetic, but the Hero actually destroyed the guy, as he pretty much was the sword, but for sure she gave him a despair end and I'm with you there, he didn't deserve an honorable death.

I think the line "She was cut twice before the hero's blow" should be "He was cut into two before the hero's blow". This line should talk about Dorel got cut in half by Alicia in previous chapter.
It look like Dorel cut Alica twice before she strike him is what it saying no? On page 3 it shown Alica have 2 cut on her body.

That make sense. The part "before the hero's blow" makes it hard to understand. May be change it to "She was cut twice before she attacked" or something

It's funny that Alicia won through what's essentially persuasion roll.
Dorel could've kept going, he only died because Vordein was convinced by Alicia to give Dorel the L.

Also,

After Dorel the walking tropes it's surprising to see a not corrupted priest.
Dorein really said "my blood is only for real ones and you're a fake motherfucker"
I wonder if any of demon beast kings will try to take Alicia at some point? She's proven herself to be strong and good at utilizing the blood
