To the people saying this is NTR, it’s not really NTR. The son and the girl aren’t actually in any kind of romantic relationship and as far as they are aware the engagement is fake and will be broken off once she is cured of her shyness (I forgot what word they used for it). So she is perfectly within her rights to get romantically involved with someone else, though I’m sure the author will only be baiting that and won’t actually make it happen even though the MC completely deserves to lose any chance with her.
