I always get kind of a funny feeling from Slenderman entering the Monster Urban Legend types. Not that its bad at all, I like seeing these things change. But hell of a ride from 'cool photo edit' to 'genderfluid stalking horse for the monster-consumption yuri'.
This feels a LOT like autism man. I haven't spoken up much but between the discussions on normalcy, Itou-san's desperate scrambling for "normalcy", analysis of human behavior and mimicry on par with masking, and her kinship with the monstrous and inhuman—it all feels (perhaps unintentionally) like an autism metaphor.
